Eye Contact, Making Out, and Things That Escalate Quickly
Every podcast has a first episode. Naturally, ours immediately spiraled into flirting, emotional oversharing, queer identity discussions, sapphic tension, and at least one moment where we probably should have stopped talking — but absolutely did not.
Welcome to Tongue First.
In the very first episode of Season 1, Siren and Wendy introduce the energy that would quickly become the heart of the show: late-night queer conversations that somehow bounce between heartfelt vulnerability and absolute chaos without warning. The kind of conversation that starts with “so how did you realize you were queer?” and ends three hours later with someone accidentally unpacking their childhood trauma while everybody else is crying laughing.
Episode 1 explores attraction, intimacy, making out, queer dating culture, emotional chemistry, and the wildly specific tension of sapphic eye contact that lasts just a little too long. Along the way, Siren and Wendy talk openly about sexuality, identity, queer relationships, and the awkward, beautiful reality of trying to figure yourself out in adulthood.
But underneath all the flirting and chaos, the episode also lays the groundwork for what Tongue First really is: a space where queer people get to sound human. Messy. Funny. Curious. Sometimes emotional. Sometimes deeply unserious. Sometimes both at the exact same time.
This episode is especially for:
late bloomers
queer people who are still figuring themselves out
anyone who’s ever panic-flirted
people who mistake emotional intimacy for a personality trait
and listeners who know exactly how dangerous sustained eye contact can actually be
Season 1 starts here — with sapphic tension, emotional honesty, and absolutely no ability to stay on topic.
And honestly? That feels pretty on brand.
